Spine firm, minimally bumped and canted, with a sunned area on heel. Text-printed, original blue cloth boards very good. An original seller's sticker affixed to front pastedown, textblock edges and prelim. leaves flecked, else unmarked. Colour-art illustrated ('Stead'), loose-plastic protected dustjacket nipped and chipped, with short closed tears, a small colour-stripped spot on spine, plus a 30mm x 20mm piece excised from heel. Demobilised after the war, Worrals and Frecks are at a loose end after taking a flat in Knightsbridge.
