Pastor Doug was born at Cumeroogunga, an Aboriginal station in New South Wales. With just a basic education he became an extremely gifted professional footrunner, a boxer with Jimmy Sharman's travelling troupe, and excelled as an Australian Rules footballer at the highest level while finding his vocation as a pastor at the Church of Christ. He was a wonderful leader for his people, earming love and respect from both Aboriginal and white communities. In later life this popular Australian was appointed to the role of Governor of South Australia . . . Contents include: Prelims., Preface, 26 chapters, Epilogue. Book weight approx. 460g.
