viii, + 277pp., b/white sketch-art frontispiece and intext illustrations throughout by Stuart Tresilian. Book clean. Spine firm, but lightly bumped and noticeably canted. Illustrated (Stuart Tresilian) cloth boards minimally bumped on foredge corners, else very good. A former owner's name on ffep., else textblock edges mildly flecked. Colour-art illustrated (Stuart Tresilian), loose-plastic protected dustjacket price-clipped, nipped and edgeworn, with several closed tears, sunned spine and foredge folds. This title was the eighth in Enid Blyton's (b.1897 - d.1968) 'Adventure' series, which features Jack, Philip, Dinah, Lucy-Ann and Kiki the talking parrot. It seems a quite ordinary river that they go journeying on, but it speeds them headlong into the strangest adventure they have ever had . . . This adventure unfolds over 29 exciting chapters. Book weight approx. 415g.
