442pp. Book clean. Vivid silver title over slightly bumped, creased and canted spine. Plain blue boards undamaged. Textblock unmarked. Illustrated (including author portrait on rear panel: photography by 'Bruno of Hollywood') loose-plastic protected dustjacket price-clipped, edgeworn, some laminate lifting on rear panel gutter, plus similar on a spine crease. This is the first British edition of Jacqueline Susann's (1918-1974) debut fiction. It is a story of three young women - Anne, Neely and Jennifer, and the careers and relationships they make for themselves in New York and Hollywood between 1945 and 1965. However, all three women fall prey to the "dolls', a euphemism for amphetamines and barbiturates . . . Book weight approx. 580g.
