262pp. Book clean. Bright gilt title over minimally canted and bumped spine. Plain red boards undamaged. Random flecks on textblock edges/margins, and front endpapers. Art-design, loose-plastic protected dustjacket lightly edgeworn, with a mild dampstain on foot of printed spine panel, else minor soiling to rear (text) panel. This copy is the first British edition (translated from the Spanish by Jocasta Goodwin) of the Chilean author Jose Donoso Janez's (1924-1996) first full-length novel, originally published as "Coronacion', by Editorial Nascimento, Santiago, Chile, 1957.
