Textblock tanned and flecked, with two leaves slightly nipped on upper margin (no text loss). Art-illustrated, loose-plastic protected dustjacket noticeably nipped and edgeworn, with short closed tears. Inspired by contact with American military personnel in New Guinea during the Pacific theatre of World War Two, this historically-based novel features three Americans - a flier, a doctor, and an army nurse. We follow them from Pearl Harbour to New Guinea . . . This title, by English-born, Australian-based author Reginald Kirby (1901-1972) became the basis for the radio serial "Road to Tokio".
