x, + 243pp., unpaginated b/white halftone plates throughout (all called-for plates extant and attached). Book clean. Gilt title over mildly bumped and cocked (canted) spine. Original, cerise-coloured cloth boards minimally bumped and shelfworn, else good. A former owner's name/date (1954) on half-title page, text-block edges flecked, otherwise good. Pattern-design printed, loose-plastic protected dustjacket mildly edgeworn, with several closed tears and minor soiling on rear (text) panel. It is probably reasonable to assume that the unpublished, whispered stories would be considerably more interesting , however this gallery of ten gentle 'portraits' will, no doubt, be of appeal to royalists . . .
