Plain black boards and green tinted endpapers are mildly moisture marked, else good. A sticker ghost on rear pastedown, text-block otherwise unmarked. Duo-tone, author-portrait illustrated, loose-plastic protected dustjacket has aforementioned dampstain on reverse (front unaffected), plus minor gilt title chipping. In 1899 'Banjo' Paterson, noted Australian literary celebrity, left his homeland to cover the Boer War in South Africa as a special correspondent for the 'Sydney Morning Herald'. Immersing himself in the thick of the action, his dispatches make poignant reading . . .
