280pp. Unpaginated b/white halftone plates (all called-for plates extant andf attached) throughout, some confronting in content. Book clean, square. Spine firm, gilt title there-on. Minor marks on boards. Former owner's name on ffep., lightly flecked textblock edges, else leaves clean. No dustjacket. The author became a P.O.W. of the Japanese, captured in the struggle to save Malaya. His experiences in the work camps in Singapore, 'Hell Fire Pass' in Thailand, the dockyards of Nagasaki, and finally Hiroshima, make interesting reading . . . A revised re-issue  of this book was retitled 'Road to Hiroshima', possibly owing to controversy with it's original title . . . Contents include: Action in Malaya, Pudu Prison-Kuala Lumpur, Singapore-Changi, and Thailand, The cruise of the 'Byoki Maru', Japan. Book weight approx. 480g.
